摘要
Ontologies are a key component of the Semantic Web initiative. Ontology frameworks represent a method for modelling knowledge. Here we show how ontologies can be used in automated course creation and how adaptivity can be exploited by using an ontological knowledge base. We also demonstrate how a learner can gain knowledge by browsing the ontology in a pedagogically sound manner, using learning resources associated with concepts within the ontology.
