Incorporating an e-Book into Digital Control studies

Nowadays, instead of being taught, students are encouraged to learn by themselves, being then essential to have new tools and resources that allow them to achieve the goals that a high education program proposes. This paper describes the motivation in the development of an e-book "Digital Control: from Theory to Numerical Simulation". The e-book is a support tool for the Digital Control course and reuse concepts and knowledge acquired in previous years including Numerical Methods used to solve control models. The e-book offers different types of content and functionalities, such as videos and animations, transforming the learning process into an interesting and intuitive task. The language in this e-book is simple and intuitive to facilitate reading and understanding of the available topics. Being a portable tool, accessible in any computer, it is authors' believe that this will be a tool suitable for students' needs in their learning process. In order to understand the students' response, questionnaire results are analyzed and discussed.
