INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY: PROJECT AND DISCUSSION ON THE MEMO BY G. I. CHELPANOV (1926)

The article deals with the problem of the formation and development of experimental psychology in Russia in the 1920s. It consists of introductory commentary and the publication of historical documents illustrated the attempt to establish the Institute of Social Psychology in 1926 by G.I. Chelpanov. The historical circumstances of the creation of the documents are described (the specific of the institute's work in the era of revolutionary changes, the reorganizations in conditions of increased influence of behavioral trends reflexology, reactology, etc.). In the second part of the article are published: 1) memo by G.I. Chelpanov "On the need to organize the Institute of Social Psychology", 2) the Protocol of the meeting of the Scientific Advisory Commission of the Scientific Department of the Glavnauka, found in the Scientific Archive of the Russian Academy of Education. The publication of documents is accompanied by a description of the appearance of the manuscripts, its current location.
