A holistic approach to management systems is now widely recognised as being essential for a thriving business. In this paper, Peter Hurford of MainPower New Zealand and Niall Lindsay of Niall Lindsay and Associates present a case study from the electrical supply industry, focusing on MainPower New Zealand Ltd's recent success in gaining ISO 9001 and 14001 certification for quality and environmental management. MainPower's Human Resource and Health and Safety Systems were absorbed into the combined ISO systems to provide a comprehensive, integrated management system.
