摘要
This paper highlights a dilemma facing e-leadership in cross-cultural education. In the first instance, e-leadership in online education needs to incorporate the world-views of both the e-leader and the e-learner, owing to the conditioning influences of disparate cultural characteristics. Effective e-leadership in cross-cultural learning situations, thus, requires the e-leader to relinquish a degree of control and instead employ holistic means to achieve the most efficacious ends. Yet, in the second instance, empirical measurements of societal syndromes indicate the Anglo-Western approach to knowledge building is best placed to enhance knowledge sharing and creative synergies. E-leaders involved in cross-cultural education delivery shall need to overcome this dilemma. A composite approach incorporating both findings needs to be encouraged to break the dilemma.
