Impact of IT enabled performance measurement on business and management

The objective of this paper is to implement IT supported performance measurement in companies and identify its impact on business and management. A structured pilot case study was implemented at AFE, which formed the basis for initial results. These results were tested at another company SLC. The findings of this paper are that performance measurement implemented with an IT support and senior management commitment will improve proactive decision making of managers, in identifying strengths and weaknesses of business, in disseminating information throughout the organisation, in acting as a continuous improvement tool, etc. Copyright (C) 2003 IFAC
