摘要
The aim of the present pilot study was to investigate the clinical effects of orally administered E. coli strain Nissle 1917 (EcN) in maintenance therapy of young patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) as compared to the treatment with mesalazine. After one year of observation we could show that relapse rate, clinical activity index (CAI), standard deviation scores (SDS) for height and weight, body-mass index (BMI) as well as efficacy and tolerance of the medication were similar in patients who received mesalazine and patients who changed medication from mesalazine to EcN.
