We say that an orbit {x(n)} of a dynamical system has historic behaviour if for some continuous function f on the state space the average lim(n ->infinity) 1/n+1 Sigma(n)(i=0) f(x(n)) does not exist (or converge). The problem is under which conditions such orbits can occur in a persistent way.
