摘要：
Risk management of human-technological systems has focused on strategic planning for prevention, mitigation, response, and recovery activities. The growing availability and accessibility of advanced information and communications technologies provide the opportunity for operational risk management (ORM). In this paper we define ORM and summarize our research results as reported in our most recent book, Operational Risk Management: The Integration of Decision, Communications, and Multimedia Technologies. This paper highlights the core concepts of ORM, discusses decision support technologies for ORM, and presents applications in transportation and emergency response.
