摘要
This paper reviews a new method for the surface modification to cover particle surface with fine particles mechanically in a dry phase by making use of comminution techniques. First, the features of this method are introduced, and the composite process of core/fine particles combination is explained. Then, the effects of the controlling factors on the composite process are discussed. The factors include mechanical actions, processing temperature and ambient conditions. The applications of this method for diverse fields such as advanced ceramics will be introduced. By reviewing the applications, the conditions of core/fine particles acceptable to this method are also discussed. As a result, it will be made clear that this method has a great feasibility to fabricate composite particles by combination of various kinds of core/fine particles. Finally, the progress of machines for industrial use including their scale-up is also explained.
