The Wohnheimverbund Epilepsie 1 is part of the institution for the disabled at Bethel. Its rehabilitative service focuses on young adults with epilepsy and includes educational, medical and psychosocial help. The residents suffering from difficult-to-treat-epilepsies live approximately two or three years in residential care in order to acquire social competencies, abilities to hold a job and psychological stability. The measure used by the Wohnheimverbund which have shown to be effective are its structural framework, its teaching methods and the support of the professional services.
