摘要
The growing concern about climate change has highlighted the need for novel technologies to capture CO2 with minimum energy penalties and costs. The Ca-Cu looping process is one of the most promising of such CO2 capture technologies, integrating calcium looping and chemical looping combustion for the production of hydrogen and/or power. This review compiles the main recent advances in the Ca-Cu process, focusing on reactor and process design and the experimental work needed to validate the performance of reactors and materials. Significant progress has also been made in modelling and simulating this system in power plants and industrial systems. New synthetic Ca-Cu solids have shown to be very reactive and resistant to agglomeration after multicycle operation.
