摘要
This paper critiques and revises the U.S. Genetic Privacy Act that proposes Federal legislation to " protect the genetic privacy of individuals." The Act safeguards the privacy of an individual from whom genetic information is gathered (the sample source), but fails to protect the privacy of others genetically related to the sample source. E.g., the Act does not prevent a sample source from giving a DNA sample to some third party such as an insurance company, so that the insurance company could Bather genetic information on the source's sibling. This paper notes this lacuna in the Act and proposes remedies.
