摘要
The Pockels effect was characterized in a thin-film helical polymer, poly(gamma-benzyl-(L)-glutamate), that was dissolved in chloroform electrically poled during solvent evaporation. Our device structure enabled the examination of poling fields ranging from 18 to 63 kV/cm, and finite element modeling was employed in the determination of the r(33) values, which were found to be on the order of 1.5 pm/V. In addition, Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy was performed on the polymer samples to show that PBLG exhibits no absorption peaks in the frequency regime spanning from 200 GHz to 2 THZ.
