Denialism, revisionism and absence: gender and sexuality in Municipal Education Plans in Rio Grande do Sul

The text discusses, circumstantially, the gender and sexuality theme in some Municipal Education Plans in Rio Grande do Sul, from an intentional non-probabilistic sample composed of education plans from the twelve largest municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. The text is based on descriptive research, built from a dialectical methodology, with a reconstructive analytical procedure and documental research. The text exposes the mentions and absences of the themes 'gender and sexuality' in the examined plans, reflecting particularly on the three municipalities that deal with the theme with actions that align with the concepts of denialism and revisionism. It outlines five arguments about the discussions of gender and sexuality in basic education and, in conclusion, infers: a) the absence of the agenda in the examined PMEs; b) the allegorical feature without practical effect of the mentions and, c) the context of the revisionist movements. Such inferences suggest that the 'gender and sexuality' agenda is still incipient in PMEs in the state.
