摘要
Purpose of this study was to measure pulse oximeter signal amplitudes in different parts of human body. Research results can be utilised in the future when choosing measurement site for wireless continuously monitoring probe. To enable the measurements, pulse oximeter with special characteristics was designed and built, because no suitable instrumentation for this kind of experiments was available. Measurements were made from 20 different locations. The best pulse signals were obtained from thumb and nose. According to this study minimum thresholds can be considered to be for normalized amplitude 0.02 and for SNR 20 dB.
