摘要
One-half hectare (one acre) of Moso bamboo planted in the 1930s in the Clemson University Experimental Forest in South Carolina was used for growth measurements. Bamboo shoots emerging in March through April were measured in height and diameter. The shoots reached an average height of 15.9 m (53 ft.) and an average diameter of 11.68 cm (4.6 in.) in about 11 weeks. Afterwards, no further growth in height or diameter was observed.
