摘要
The ISAC-1 Radioactive Beam Facility at TRIUMF is now successfully operating. The facility uses the ISOL method based on high-energy spallation reactions to produce the radioactive ions. Radioactive ions over a wide mass range can be used for a variety of studies, and in addition, ions below A=30 can be accelerated up to 1.5 MeV/A. ISAC-II, an extension of ISAC-1, is currently under construction and will accelerate all ions up to A=150 to 6.5 MeV/A. The facility will be described as well as aspects of the experimental program, with special emphasis on the current nuclear astrophysics program.
