摘要
Alloy white cast irons containing 26 wt% Cr and 2.76-3.66 wt% C were tested in three different wear environments. These were a low-stress abrasion environment (dry sand rubber wheel test), a high-stress abrasion environment (pill abrasion test) and an impact-abrasion environment (impeller-in-drum test). Different wear mechanisms operating in each wear environment require that microstructural features of alloy white cast irons be developed differently for the best performance. It is critical that the microstructure of 26Cr white cast irons has a small intercarbide spacing in a low-stress abrasion. environment, large carbides and a primarily austenitic matrix in a high-stress abrasion environment and fine carbides in an impact-abrasion environment.
