Social security education in basic education: educating for the uncertainties of life?

摘要
This article aims to discuss social security education as one of the elements of an integral training as an educational project that reshapes school in the face of the complexity of life in the 21st century. The study presented was conducted at a basic education school from a small town of the Brazilian State of Santa Catarina. Research participants included nine out of twenty permanent teachers from different areas of knowledge, chosen based on their availability, and students from four high school classes who participated in a seminar on the subject. The conclusion is that students and teachers are interested in discussing social security education at basic education schools, since another challenge is posed to teachers, which is to reconnect knowledge and skills related to life and its uncertainties in an interdisciplinary manner.
