Research on Location Entropy Analysis of Manufacturing Agglomeration in Western China from the Perspective of Transportation Infrastructure

摘要
Based on the analysis of the current situation of transportation infrastructure and manufacturing agglomeration in western China, this paper uses panel data of western China from 2000-2014 to analyze the impacts of transport infrastructure on manufacturing agglomeration in western China. Case study results show that, the location entropy of manufacturing agglomeration in western China is consistent with the transportation infrastructure on spatial distribution that the road density has a significant positive impact on manufacturing agglomeration in western China, and that the impact of railway density on the agglomeration of the western region is not significant. At the same time, the effect of knowledge spillovers and the reduction of labor costs can significantly promote the manufacturing agglomeration in western China.
