Sol-gel fluorination of the divalent metal fluorides MgF2, CaF2 and BaF2 and their complex fluorides K2MgF4, BaMgF4, and BaAlF5 is reported. Structural, optical and surface properties are discussed. (c) 2007 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
