Thromboembolism is a frequent complication and cause of death in patients with malignant disease. We performed a prospective study to determine a risk of hypercoagulations and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) among patients with endometrial cancer (EC). Group of 25 women with EC in stages I-IV (FIGO) was examined. All patients were before therapy procedures, and they did not physical signs of DVT. In EC patients D-dimer (cross-linked fibrin degradation products) blood concentration was beyound a limit in 88% of cases. In collor Doppler examination pathological changes were recognized in 11 patients (44%). Six of them had significant differences in velocity of blood flow in right and left iliac common vein (difference>30%). Clot in vein of pelvis minor was recognized in 8 patients (32%). In patients with EC, risk of thromboembolism is high. Therapy is associated with an increased pulmonary embolism risk. Prophylaxis is required.
