摘要
Electric load simulator (ELS) is a high performance servo system which needs fast dynamic response. But the AC-DC-AC drive circuit has limited energy conversion speed. To settle this problem, this paper applies matrix converter (MC) to ELS. It is compared with the back-to-back dual PWM converter firstly and the theoretical analysis indicates that MC has faster energy conversion speed. The modulation strategy and commutation strategy of MC are provided to ensure the loading performance of ELS. And the control system of ELS with MC is designed. Finally, the simulation and experimental results validate that applying the MC as the drive circuit of ELS can effectively improve its dynamic performance.
