摘要
The middle stretch of about 110 km from Moradabad to Bareilly was studied for evaluating the pollutional status of river Ramganga during 1993-94. Present investigation revealed that water is highly polluted especially at Out Fall of different discharged channel at different centres. The impact of sewage waste reflected high values of free CO2 (14.0 mg(-1)), low dissolved oxygen (nil - 3.5 mgl(-1)), high alkalinity (323 mgl(-1)) and high hardness (145.0 mgl(-1)). Paper waste showed its effect on alkalinity (308 mgl(-1)), hardness (160 mgl(-1)) and dissolved oxygen (3.27 mgl(-1)) whereas rubber waste acompanied with sugar factory waste attributed to very high conductivity (1114 mu mhos cm(-1)), high chloride (284 mgl(-1)) and high hardness (168 mgl(-1)). The paper, therefore, highlights adverse impact of sewage waste, paper and pulp effluents, sugar factory and finally rubber effluents on the water quality of the river.
