X-ray K-absorption near edge structure studies of some copper (II) mixed ligand complexes with alanine as primary ligand

摘要
X-ray K-absorption near edge structure studies of some copper (II) mixed ligand complexes have been done using Cauchois type curved crystal spectrograph of 0.4 m radius, The studies have been carried out in solid as well as aqueous solution forms. The values of chemical shift in solid form is more than the values of chemical shift in solution form for each complex None of the complex in solid form show splitting while the complexes in aqueous solution form show splitting of K=absorption edge. This gives an idea about the octahedral geometry of the complexes. The percentage covalency and fractional oxidation number is also calculated in the study.
