摘要：

We examined the implications of Ernest Boiler's (1990) concept of the "scholarship of application "for student affairs. Issues addressed in the article include the meaning of the scholarship of application, its importance for student affairs, and constraints and challenges that must be overcome to embrace the scholarship of application. Finally, several recommendations for making the scholarship of application a central feature of student affairs practice are provided.
