Analysis of the Off-Design Behavior of the Adiabatic Heater

The adiabatic heater which is the part of the working gas source in the hypersonic wind tunnel was tested in dynamic experiments. They were carried out in a special test bench which provided the off-design modes of the heater performance: there was no mechanism of piston motion damping, and the frame was not mounted. The pressures in the receiver, feed pipes, cylinder working capacity and in the capacity of the pushing gas supplier were measured. The temperature in the working capacity was measured, too. The measurement results show the complex interaction of the mutual motion of the pistons and frame. Simulation of this process permits determining its other parameters such as the distance, velocity, acceleration, force, etc.investigations were carried out at different pressures of the pushing gas and piston motion directions.
