An efficient algorithm for intra-prediction mode selection in H.264

摘要：
This work proposes a fast intra-prediction mode selection method for Joint Video Team (JVT) video coding standard H.264. Based on the block type selection approach, the local edge information obtained by calculating edge feature parameters and sub-sampling of matching operations, the proposed method can reduce the encoding time over 71% and slight PSNR sacrificed.
