Estimation of the service life of equipment from testing and operating parameters

摘要：
A method for estimating the residual service life of vessels and devices operating under pressure from their testing and operating parameters is described. The method is based on a series of ''strict assumptions'' (the assumption of the presence of crack-type defects in the component walls, the assumption of an operating regime with cyclic variation of the pressure away from zero, etc.) that provide a certain safety margin for the strength and durability of the equipment. Therefore, this method can be recommended for a rough estimate of the residual service life of structural components.
