The soft drinks sector is the largest consumer of artificial sweetners. Aspartame has the largest share of the market, currently around 90%, and is likely to dominate the market during this decade with its share expected to fall to only around 70% by 2009. Acesulfame-K and sucralose are expected to share a similar slice of most of the remaining share In the years to come.
