摘要
Underwater sensor networks (UWSN) are a rapidly expanding area of research with varied applications like ocean data collection, pollution monitoring, ocean sampling, etc. One of the most researched areas include the coverage of UWSN which forms the basis of many applications. Coverage is usually defined as how effectively a nehvork is tracked by sensors. This paper studies different 2D sensor deployment schemes and their effect on coverage. It gives a comparative study for triangle, grid and hexagonal based sensor deployment schemes for maximum coverage and the number of sensor nodes required in each case for achieving a desired level of coverage.
