摘要
This paper presents a design of a small VOD server that provides full VCR fractions for clients. The design has been implemented on the symmetrical multiprocessors equipped with four 150 MHz Pentium processors. The operating systems are Microsoft Windows NT for the server and Windows 95 for clients The VOD sewer can control and schedule more than 50 video sessions using a priority scheduling method. Ir reads a MPEG-I stream from disks and sends them to clients through the network. The performance for the server is discussed in the paper.
