摘要
The positioning of the fast moving billet is difficult for universal sensors. This paper proposes a non-contact detecting method, in which a new image processing system is established to position the fast moving billet Firstly the current image, captured from the heating stove, is differenced with the background image. From the differential image, we can obtain the useful features by profile projection. Some of the projection features pattern of the billet can be got off-line Then according to the theory of the nearest neighbor decision based on minimum distance, we can decide whether the current image is matched with the pattern of the billet. And then if the matching is successful, the position of billet can be obtained The practical running results show this non-contact position method has many good properfies, comparing with other non-contact detecting methods. It can satisfy the need of the practical detecting in the industrial fields.
