摘要
This is a preface for the special issue 'Assessment of pathways of the net zero GHG emission consistent with 1.5 degrees C target'. To achieve the 1.5 degrees C target, it will be necessary to shift from the current greenhouse gas emissions trajectory to the targets in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and then further to net zero emissions not only in the developed countries but also in the developing countries. The articles in this special issue examine the greenhouse gas emission pathways and mitigation measures consistent with the 1.5 degrees C target in eight countries covering around 50% of global GHG emissions currently, and also those for the world as a whole.
