摘要
Esophageal leiomyoma is a rare and benign disease. It represents less than 0.5% of all the esophageal neoplasms, and most of them occur in the medium and inferior thoracic segments. The dysphagia is the main clinical manifestation. and it usually appears when the diameter of the tumor is bigger than 5cm. The treatment is based on tumor's resection, which nowadays can be done safely by videothoracoscopy, with less morbidity than the traditional thoracotomy.
