摘要：
Measurements of soil moisture are essential in fields such as agriculture or civil engineering. The measurements of dielectric constant with electromagnetic techniques have become widespread over recent years. This paper we proposes using low cost commercial Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) modules for soil moisture estimation that are basically designed for localization in wireless sensor networks. These modules are capable of measuring very precise times of flights of signals between transceivers. This advantage could be used for estimating the dielectric constant of soil.
