摘要
Power Quality issues are becoming a major concern for today's power system engineers. Large scale incorporation of non-linear loads has the potential to raise harmonic voltages and currents in an electrical distribution system to unacceptable high levels that can adversely affect the system. Active power filter (APF) based on power electronic technology is currently considered as the most competitive equipment for mitigation of harmonics and reactive power simultaneously. This paper deals with the noise cancellation which is one of the applications of adaptive filter in which different adaptive algorithms are used. Here two types of algorithms are used namely Normalized Least Mean Square (LMS) and Recursive Least Square (RLS) for harmonic noise cancelling. A SIMULINK model is developed using these algorithms. The results shown that the RLS algorithms present a better dynamic performance than NLMS in eliminating the total harmonic distortion (THD).
