摘要
In the digital economy, IoT plays a pivotal role not only in business development, but as well in customer's perception. In the past years, commercial drone deliveries have been constantly evolving and focusing more and more on user's perception in order to gain customers satisfaction and loyalty. The emergence of the Internet of Things technologies could bring real benefits to improving many business verticals by introducing drones that can deliver products to customers based on GPS location or the address mentioned in their orders. Thus, drone delivery is an innovative alternative to classic delivery methods. In the past years there has been a lot of focus on the possibility of delivering orders by using a drone delivery service. Companies such as Amazon, Google, UPS, DHL and Alibaba are the industry leaders that have tested drone delivery and are considering commercial deliveries from an economical, technical and legal perspective. Still, Amazon is the first company to deploy drones by using their branded delivery service called Amazon Prime Air, but even start-up companies are testing out drone delivery. The research proposed aims to identify, and analyze the success factors in using drones for delivering orders. The main objective is to determinate if customers perceive drone delivery as a more time efficient delivery method compared to classic delivery options. Also, the study offers a new perspective on the success factors of delivering online orders with drones, a perspective that analyzes data related to convenience, accuracy of delivery, distance range, time efficiency, autonomy. Delivering products with drones is one step closer to becoming a more efficient delivery alternative for business. Digitalization is the key to automated orders delivery.
