Research on Improving the Quality of Mineralogy and Petrology Education for Material Science and Engineering

Considering the professional feature of material science and engineering, aiming to improve the interest and passion of students to learn Mineralogy and Petrology, contents, methods and means of teaching are discussed in the paper. According to the character of course, basis on knowing nature, some law and truth are narrated from the natural phenomena and all kinds of minerals. In order to cultivate the ability of exploration, practice and comprehensive analysis of students, generality between the course and the major is involved in the class with different teaching arts. Furthermore, teaching reforms are also discussed on how to face the current problems and make the teaching quality better.
