摘要：
In this paper, we aim to analyse the intellectual structure of the Student Engagement field from a research point of view. For this purpose, we have made a bibliometric review. Using SciMAT and VOSviewer softwares, we have obtained some performance indicators, and a strategic diagram with thematic clusters of scientific research on Student Engagement in Higher Education from 1998 to 2017. The main contribution of this work is the comprehensive and objective review of the topic, showing the state of the art about University Student Engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). With this study is possible to identify the research themes and provide pathways for future research in the topic, and consequently advancing a continuous quality improvement system for Higher Education.
