A 12-bit current-steering DAC with calibration by combination selection

摘要
This paper presents a 12-bit segmented current-steering digital to analog converter. In the thermometer current sources, a calibration scheme using combination selection of minimum-sized devices is used. The calibration method takes advantage of the statistical variations of transistor properties. Simulation results show that the calibration cancels static errors effectively, and the resulting M and DNL values of the DAC are less than 0.3LSB.
