Multistage detector with reduced complexity for DS-CDMA systems

摘要
In this paper, a reduced complexity multistage detector is introduced for DS-CDMA systems, which is derived from the soft sigmoid decision parallel interference cancellation (PIC) detector. From the derivation, we can see that this reduced complexity detector has a more clearly partial interference cancellation explanation about the soft sigmoid PIC detector. Derivation and computer simulations show the proposed detector can reach the performance of soft sigmoid PIC detector easily without the variance estimation of the residual noise at each stage or the sigmoid decision function which is not easily implemented in practice.
