摘要
We present a simple experimental setup to study the velocity profile in a rectangular closed conduit. Particle image velocimetry was applied to obtain the velocity profiles for several values of aspect ratios and for different flow rates. The velocity profile is obtained in the central longitudinal plane of the conduit and in the downstream region where the flow is fully developed. Close agreement between experimental results and theoretical predictions is found. (c) 2007 American Association of Physics Teachers.
