Corrosion Resistant of Inorganic Coating for 50CrVA Spring Steel at Elevated Temperatures

摘要
An inorganic coating on 50CrVA spring steel was successfully fabricated by a simple and low-cost spraying technique, using bauxite, silicon carbide, sodium silicate, feldspar and phosphate binders. Experimental results showed that the weight gain of coated specimen was reduced by 67.82% and the decarburization layer of coated specimen disappeared completely at 1 050 degrees C holding for 120 min. The coating showed a reduction in decarburization of 100% at 1 050 degrees C holding for 120 min. It suggests that the coating prevented the decarburization during high -temperature treatment.
