Low sidelobe taper choice for wideband adaptive arrays

摘要
Chebychev and Taylor weightings are both used to produce low sidelobe patterns for array antennas. The Chebychev taper may be considered superior because it produces a narrower mainlobe for a given maximum sidelobe level. However, for wideband adaptive arrays the Taylor apodization can result in narrower interference nulls, thus providing better overall adaptive beamformer performance.
