Regional Competitiveness in Romania

Regional competitiveness is the way in which regions promote, attract and support economic activity to achieve a high standard of living for its inhabitants. Thus, regions have no other option than to strive to be competitive, to survive in the new global market in order to face new competition. This study aims to substantiate a methodology for evaluating rural competitiveness in regional profiles. Thus, the analysis is an assessment of competitiveness of Romania's eight rural development regions versus national competitiveness. This evaluation was conducted using an index of competitiveness, which included a series of indicators to measure competitiveness considered representative.
