摘要：

The goal of this paper is to study subgroups of Thompson's group F which are isomorphic to F x Z(n) and F x F. A result estimating the norm of an element of Thompson's group is found, and this estimate is used to prove that these particular subgroups are quasi-isometrically embedded. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
