摘要
Education plays a decisive role in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by developing human resources and raising awareness at community level in promoting and implementing the concept of Sustainable Development and Sustainable Energy. In this context, Higher Education Institutions are responsible for both the training of highly qualified human resources and the development together with various structures of Sustainable Development strategies. The paper describes the ways and tools of human resources training in universities through formal education and the involvement of universities in non-formal education. An essential role in promoting the concept of Sustainable Development is played by scientific research structures in the development of sustainable materials, products and systems. Ways and tools developed and implemented by the Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania to promote the concept of sustainable development at the institutional, local, regional, national and international levels are detailed in the paper.
