A Comparative Study of Sports Industry in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Area

Based on the comparative study on sports industry of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei areas in aspects of total value of sports industry, structure of sports industry (competition performance market, physical fitness and leisure activity, sales of sports requisites, sportswear, and other related sports products, sports agencies, and other sports activities), as well as in other totally five categories, the paper is designed to figure out the gap and existing issues of Hebei sports industry compared with Beijing and Tianjin area. Consequently, the following conclusions have been reached: The development of primary part of sports industry is still lagging behind, and its industrial structure is irrational as well. Besides, sports industry is mainly concentrated in manufacture and sales of sportswear and sports products, as well as in other peripheral business scope, while the primary part of sports industry only takes a small proportion. Thirdly, sports industry is still on a lower level. The scale is small, without sufficient branding concept. Sports industry in this area has not yet formed scale aggregation and group advantage. Governments have not yet provided enough support, and people's cognation on sports industry's being an independent industrial form is not quite scientific. In addition, there is also lacking of guidance, support and supervision for the development of sports industry. Many other issues in aspects of ground, financing, and taxation are still needing supports and to be solved. In order to minimize the gap with Beijing and Tianjin area, as well as to speed up the development of sports industry in Hebei province, the paper has put forward a series of suggestion and opinions, including to embody the development of sports industry and the "Around Beijing and Tianjin Physical Fitness and Leisure Cycle" into national economy and social development planning; A coordination mechanism for development of sports industry in Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei area is to be established. Governments' policies and supports for sports industry should be further enhanced. Resources and forces should be concentrated to improve the competitiveness of sports industry and market. Furthermore, the construction of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei National Sports Industrial Park is to be promoted as well.
